Ergonomics
The Suprascan Quartz A1 BC50 features a complete workstation for handling fragile books easily and safely. The scanner is packed with accessories for convenient use: CCD camera, LED lighting, control station (PC, etc.), ergonomic table, book cradle (suitable for scanning to thicknesses of up to 50 cm / 40 kg – BC50), USB foot switch and colour test pattern. With the bundled new software, YooScan, the Suprascan Quartz A1 BC50 features an intuitive interface allowing you to perform even complex scanning jobs easily, in any production environment.

Image processing and features
The Suprascan Quartz A1 BC50 offers new LED lighting featuring major enhancements: embossed detail enhancement, anti-glare system, lighting only during the scan, etc.

With no heat, infrared or UV emissions, convenient use and document conservation are guaranteed. Its new motorised height-adjustable book cradle, with its automatic A1 glass cover pressure control feature, has been designed to maximise bound document conservation. The optional image processing Book Restorer software includes features such as autocrop, deskew, geometrical correction, finger masking, detail enhancement, etc.

Performance
The Suprascan Quartz A1 BC50 is a production book scanner for A1 format (1100 mm x 630 mm) suitable for scanning in B&W, grayscale and colour with an optical resolution of 400 x 400 dpi in A1 format. It is capable of scanning a book in 2xA1 format in 7.9 seconds at 400 dpi colour and in 6 seconds at 300 dpi. What is more, the Suprascan Quartz A1 BC50 is "Metamorfoze" compatible, and is thus compliant with specifications based on international guidelines, including image conservation technical criteria and tolerances.
